Romeo i Julia (1978) Original Polish Theater Poster 27x37

Original Polish theater poster for Romeo i Julia (Romeo and Juliet) by William Shakespeare, created in 1978 for a production at Teatr Współczesny in Wrocław. Designed by acclaimed Polish poster artist Andrzej Klimowski, this powerful composition combines photographic imagery with surreal symbolism, featuring a reclining figure and a fallen cherub to evoke themes of love, fate, and tragedy. The muted palette and stark contrasts are characteristic of the Polish School of Poster Art, emphasizing emotional depth over literal narrative. The poster is in good condition overall, showing light age toning and minor handling wear consistent with age, with no major tears or paper loss. A strong and highly collectible example of late 1970s Polish theater poster design.
