Telling Lies in America (1997) is a coming-of-age drama set in 1960s Cleveland, where a teenage Hungarian immigrant named Karchy tries to assimilate into American culture. He gets involved with a flashy, morally questionable radio DJ who gives him a glimpse of popularity and success. As things unravel, Karchy is forced to reckon with the difference between image and integrity.
