Dave (1993) is a political comedy about Dave Kovic, a kind-hearted temp agency owner who happens to look exactly like the President of the United States. When the real president falls into a coma during an affair, White House officials recruit Dave to secretly take his place. As he settles into the role, Dave begins to make genuine changes and wins over the public and the First Lady. Directed by Ivan Reitman, the film stars Kevin Kline in a dual role as Dave and President Bill Mitchell, with Sigourney Weaver as First Lady Ellen Mitchell, and strong support from Frank Langella, Kevin Dunn, and Ving Rhames. The film blends satire and heart, offering a hopeful take on politics and leadership.
