Home Alone 3 is a 1997 family comedy directed by Raja Gosnell, serving as a standalone sequel to the original Home Alone films. The story follows Alex Pruitt, an eight-year-old boy who is left home sick while his family is away. Unlike the previous films, this installment features a new cast and characters. Alex accidentally comes into possession of a toy car containing a secret microchip that a group of international spies is desperately trying to recover. When the criminals attempt to break into his house, Alex sets up an elaborate series of booby traps to outsmart them. The film maintains the slapstick humor and inventive traps of its predecessors, while shifting the focus to a new setting and espionage-based plot.
