Jet Pilot (1957) is an aviation-themed Cold War drama starring John Wayne and Janet Leigh. Wayne plays an Air Force pilot who is assigned to escort and interrogate a defecting Soviet pilot, played by Leigh. As he gets closer to her, he begins to question whether she is truly defecting or working as a spy. Filled with aerial stunts and showcasing real military aircraft, the film blends romance, suspense, and propaganda. Though filmed in 1949, its release was delayed for several years, making its themes somewhat outdated by the time it hit theaters.
