Outrageous Animation was a late‑80s/early‑90s anthology of edgy, adult‑oriented animated shorts produced by Expanded Entertainment (later Lumivision). Rather than kid‑friendly fare, it featured a global mix of brief, boundary‑pushing cartoons—often crude, surreal, and satirical. Some highlights included graphic black‑humor pieces like “Lupo the Butcher,” bizarre fairy‑tale twists, and wild visual gags on taboo topics, all wrapped in the classic fast‑cut, orchestral‑score style of so‑called “adult animation.” The first volume, released around 1988, ran under an hour; a second volume followed in 1993. Initially available on LaserDisc and VHS, it became a cult favorite among fans of dark, avant‑garde animation but was never widely reissued beyond those formats.
