Unlike the Game Boy’s monochrome display, the Game Gear’s 3.2-inch screen displayed vibrant colors, making it stand out among handhelds of the time. The system featured a horizontal design, similar to a compact Sega Genesis controller, with a D-pad, two action buttons, and a start button. It supported a wide library of games, including titles from Sega’s popular franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog, and could even play Sega Master System games with an adapter. However, its major drawback was battery life, as it required six AA batteries that lasted only a few hours, making an AC adapter or rechargeable battery pack almost necessary for extended play. Despite this, the Game Gear remains a beloved handheld for its impressive graphics and unique game selection.

everything is physically in good condition, power pack + console both power on with no issues. however, the screen on the console is blue unless looked at from a long angle. from what i've looked up it seems like the capacitors need replaced.
