Il fango verde (The Green Slime) is a 1968 sci-fi thriller directed by Kinji Fukasaku. A crew of astronauts destroy a deadly asteroid and return to the Gamma‑3 space station, unaware that one of them has brought back a strange green slime. That substance mutates into tentacled, one-eyed aliens that feed on energy and multiply rapidly whenever hurt. As the creatures overrun the station, the crew must fight desperately to contain them and prevent Earth from being threatened, all set against 1960s-style technicolor visuals and campy creature effects.
